GLOBAL WIND SURPLUS STOCKS IN NEW SUSTAINABLE LIFE
Wind Cluster, the Danish supplier of components, spare parts and consumables for wind turbines, is on-line with the world's most complete WEBSHOP.
At go-live September 12th 2024 almost 100,000 different items were uploaded and more are to be added.
This kind of WEBSHOP is unprecedented in the industry and represents a novel, sustainable method of repurposing the massive worldwide surplus stocks of wind spare parts.
Wind Cluster is uniting a large network of sup-suppliers for the wind industry. With decades of accumulated experience in the field of wind energy, Wind Cluster is facilitating cooperation, providing expert sourcing of high-quality products, spare parts, and commodities for all major brands of wind turbines. Now, to make wind business more simple and convenient Wind Cluster have introduced the new WEBSHOP.
The WEBSHOP has been developed, but large resources have also been invested in converting data formats from Wind Cluster's ERP system for uploading, photographing the many items, etc.
At Wind Cluster Warehouse Mngr. Line Thomsen has taken responsibility for commissioning the new WEBSHOP incl. module for calculating transport prices, credit card payment, etc.
Line Thomsen states: "It has been a super exciting task, where throughout the process we have aimed to make it simple. Keep it simple. Rather leave out a fancy feature or continue without photo of an item than to complicate and delay the process unnecessarily”.
Wind Cluster has also entered the first agreements with one of the biggest players on the market to sell their surplus stocks on the new WEBSHOP and more are in discussion.
A WEBSHOP with 100,000 wind spares surpasses regular operating procedures, but what's truly remarkable is the manner in which Wind Cluster is responsibly repurposing the vast worldwide surplus wind spare supplies.
When wind farms are erected around the world, a "starter kit" with spare parts is usually included. After a few years, many of the spares are still in stock.
Owners of wind farms and the industry's major stakeholders have been missing a way to have their surplus stocks come into use in a sustainable way.
At Wind Cluster, processes for managing the valuable surplus stocks as consignment stocks is in place, and the numerous parts are being sold to third parties through the new WEBSHOP, putting them to use.
Wind Cluster sees tremendous potential with additional SEO to draw clients for sales on more conventional terms, but it also has high hopes for direct sales through the new WEBSHOP, adding ease and speed for the customers.
